– Costa Mesa Police
Department has taken a significant step to improve law enforcement
activities by issuing PUMA Digital Recorders to be used by field
officers to capture unbiased audio conversation related to citizen
contacts.
PUMA Recorders are providing the Costa Mesa Police Department the
following benefits
1. PUMA Digital Recorders provide and accurate and clear accounting
of all conversations during citizen contacts, witness interview,
and suspect statements.
2. PUMA Digital Recorders will
protect the officer and the city of Costa Mesa against malicious
litigation.
3. The digital recording will be
maintained in an electronic format in the PUMA Management System
that can be retrieved for court purposes or act as an aid in
recalling an incident.
